A trip to the fiesta and another yarn order

Dad invited us to go to the St. Vincent de Paul's fiesta. While a good time was had by all, it was no where near as diverse as the Good Shepherd Octoberfest! The O'fest was like walking through an international food feast with its booths of Filipino panicit and lumpia, Vietnamese spring rolls, Korean BBQ, Mexican carne asada and taquitos, German brats...and of course, the hamburgers, hot dogs and corn on the cob. I'm not saying there wasn't any good eats at the d'Pauls fiesta- I grubbed my carne asada burrito like I hadn't had one in years (I actually had one when I went back to San Diego last month, so it wasn't that long ago.) There wasn't that big of a selection...I guess when you grow up with one thing, you get accustomed to it and expect it to always be like that. We did have a good time on the rides and of course, AJB and I had to go on the super slide! Best ride ever...Good food, good rides and a good opportunity for me to go on manual mode on my camera.

Here's a few shots from that night:

I was testing out the aperture and wanted to get that blurry spinning image.

The Zipper

The Wheel

I obviously still need to practice tons but I was happy with how the blurry light ones came out. Here is my flickr page for others.

On my other hobby, I started making my Christmas surprises. Here's the start of the Galaxy Scarf:

Hopefully, it won't take too long to finish. I have about 5 of them to make!

I also finished CMBs Michigan scarf:

It'll keep him warm and cozy when I can't.

Remember that yarn order I mentioned in my title? I bought two different shades of pinks and blues to make AJB her own Sheldon. I'm thinking of making a couple of love turtles- one girl and boy. I also bought Spring Green Heather Shadow to make Seascape for an aunt:

Yes, I know "seascape" should be a blue color but her fave color is green.
I bought Alpaca Cloud lace in Stream to make the Seascape for my mom.

I also purchased some Gloss lace in Port for another Clap.

There will be lots of scarving going on!

Yeah, I know...

I have to wipe the inches of dust off my neglected knitting blog. It seems as though I can't keep up with everything I want to do...I want to knit, blog, learn photography all while folding laundry (that's still not folded), organize yarn stash (that's still kind of crammed in a closet), take things to Goodwill (things still in the garage)...and tons of other things that still haven't been done. Oh well, one thing at a time, I suppose!

I've almost completed my Razor Cami:

I'm just working on I-cords for the sleeves, then off to the post office it goes to, hopefully, make a birthday girl very happy!

In a couple of weeks, a dear friend is having her baby shower. I wanted to have a little dress made for her but my knitting needles (or hands) don't come equipped with turbo. For now, I'll be making a berry baby hat for her.

Then, after THAT, there's another birthday pressy I want to knit up! Its the Ms. Marigold but it'll be in barn red. I guess it'll be called "Ms. Barn Red..."

Oh yeah! I've finished my 2nd Clappy! Just 3 more to go...
This one is going out to AJB's very special Kindergarten teacher.

That's it for the knitting! Hmmm...when am I going to be able to knit something for myself??

Happy Belated Easter, Meester!

The Easter Bunny came to visit...look what he left on our walk way:

Silly rabbit, didn't your mama ever teach you to wipe your feet??

Here is all the loot the Bunny left AJB:

Lucky girl! She received a 3-D flip flop towel, a new kitten shirt, a little pot to grow a plant in, new summer time flip flops, random goodies from Target (the Easter Bunny's favorite store) and plastic eggs with Littlest Pet Shop critters tucked inside!

Here are some other Easter picks on Flicker...

On the knitting front (since, technically, this is suppose to be a knitting blog) I've been working on a Clapotis for someone that may be moving out of AZ. I'm hoping to have it done by the end of May and I'm about 2/3 of the way complete. This is my second Clapotis. This time, I'm using Knitpicks Shimmer in Turquoise Splendor. Here are some pics I took playing around with my new camera:

And the details on my Ravelry page!

We took AJB bowling for the first time...I think we warped the lane after we were done playing:
